Is Talktap free?
Recording and playback are free, forever, with no limits. Your first transcripts are free too. Pro unlocks unlimited transcripts, summaries and export. No free-trial tricks: the price you see is the price.
Does it upload my audio?
No. Transcription runs on your iPhone with Apple's on-device speech recognition, and summaries run on the device with Apple Intelligence. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Which languages does it transcribe?
The languages iOS can transcribe on your device — English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish and more. The app shows the exact list for your iPhone and downloads a language once so it works offline.
Which iPhones get summaries?
Summaries and action items use Apple Intelligence, available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer with iOS 26. Every other iPhone on iOS 18 or later gets recording, transcripts, search, key details and export.
Can I record phone calls?
No. iOS does not allow apps to record phone calls. Talktap records what the microphone hears: lectures, meetings, interviews, your own notes.
What happens if my phone dies mid-recording?
Talktap writes the audio to disk as it records. The next time you open the app, whatever was captured is recovered as a normal recording.
Do I need an account?
No. Nothing to sign up for.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period.
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Open the app → Settings → Restore purchases.
